I am taking limited commission requests
Process:
For commissions we will start with a conversation. Do you have a reference photo? Which of my paintings resonate with you most? Which colours are you most drawn to or how can we complement your existing space? What size are you interested in and what is reasonable for the project you are interested in? We will go over questions like these to determine how (and if) I can make your vision come to life.
Please note that I only take commissions for landscape paintings. I will consider abstract commissions if the specifications are very open ended, as this needs to be a very intuitive process. I prefer not to do custom work on other subjects because they do not fit into my creative aesthetic and I could not do them justice (e.g. buildings, portraits, pet portraits). If this is the case I will do my best to refer you to the right artist for your project.
After getting an idea of what you are looking for and discussing pricing you will provide a 50% down payment. I will create sketches (in coloured pencil and paint) for composition and colour and review these with you. Then, I will begin to create your painting. I will send photos for review through various stages of progress.
After the painting is finished I will send a photo for final review. After review and final payment your painting will be prepared for shipment or delivery as soon as it is dry.
Pricing:
Prices for commissioned work are higher than the prices for my other work. There is also a minimum price of $150 for commissions. This reflects the extra time and creative energy involved in working through someone else’s vision. Pricing may vary slightly depending on the detail involved, extra rounds of edits, and materials used. Shipping is not included in prices. A few examples for commission pricing on gallery wrapped canvas are as follows:
6x6 inches: $150 CAD
12x12 inches: $340 CAD
16x20 inches: $560 CAD
24x36 inches: $1,060 CAD
30x40 inches: $1,415 CAD
