Inspired by the southern California Coast in a superbloom year. In the spring of 2017, halfway through pregnancy, I left my graduate school obligations for five slow days spent exploring the coast around Santa Barbara, CA with my love. I skipped classes, I said “no thanks” to make-up assignments, and I recognized my full worth as a human being.
You are deserving of rest, you are deserving of time away, you are deserving of these things without grand explanations. Just go.
About The Escapes Collection:
In the long, cold days of January, I needed and escape. So, I took off for Mexico and California, reliving some recent vacations, splashing fluid acrylics around like the waves of the ocean and scribbling oil paint like lines in the sand.
These paintings are an invitation to step away and take a breath, not to run away, but to escape for a moment, to find rest, to find clarity, to find peace again.
Size: 8” x 10” x 0.75” canvas - approx. 9” x 11” x 1.5” with floater frame
Medium: Oil paint layered over fluid acrylic paint on clear-gessoed raw canvas. Initialed on the front, signed and titled on the back. Framed and ready to hang in a solid maplewood floater frame.
